A few weeks later, and here is the solution, 6 of us using the Easter weekend (not all of it -- just Saturday and Sunday) to nip down to the Loire, collect the wine and nip back. How mad is that?
Armed with a couple of maps, a sat nav, two cars, lunch and a couple of two-way radios, we headed off on the Eurotunnel dead early on Saturday morning. Less than 36 hours later, we were back on the Eurotunnel and back into England.
